choosing a name for a business is never easy. it's the first impression, the introduction, the essence of what you're offering to the world distilled into a few words. when I started thinking about the name for this business, I knew it had to be something that reflected not only the style and quality of the clothing but also the philosophy behind it. after much thought, brainstorming, and a bit of serendipity, c.u.e. the cloth was born. here’s the story behind the name.

I spent hours flipping through pinterest, magazines, scrolling through online style guides, and jotting down words that resonated with the kind of clothing I wanted to offer.
once I compiled my vision board, I used three keywords to describe my vision board's overall aesthetic: classic, undone, and elevated. these words perfectly encapsulated the look and feel I envisioned for this little shop.
- classic: timeless pieces that are in style today and can be worn years from now. these collections include wardrobe staples that can be styled and worn multiple ways.
- undone: this captured the casual, laid back aesthetic that is all about looking effortlessly put together, with minimal effort. it's relaxed, natural, and authentically you.
- elevated: i want to make sure the pieces in the shop have a little something extra - a touch of sophistication that sets them apart.
the acronym: a happy accident
as I looked at these three words on my vision board, it clicked: classic. undone. elevated. the first letters of each word spelled "c.u.e.". not only did this acronym perfectly represent the essence of my brand, but it also had a catchy, memorable ring to it. it felt like a sign that I was on the right track.

I have long term plans that include expanding the sizing selection and quality of the pieces, which is why I put emphasis on solidifying the brand identity from the start.
